Put Your Lights On

--Ultimate Santana
(feat. Everlast)

Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you lovers
Put your lights on, put your lights on

Hey now, all you killers
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on

Cause there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with her hand on my head
She say I've got nothing to fear

There's a darkness living deep in my soul
I still got a purpose to serve
So let your light shine, deep into my home
God, don't let me lose my nerve
Don’t let me lose my nerve

Hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now
Wo oh hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now

Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on

Because there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with her hand on my head
She say I've got nothing to fear

La illaha illa Ala lah
We all shine like stars
La illaha illa Ala lah
We all shine like stars
Then we fade away

Hi Shawna. Wonderful song. Did you write it? I'll pray you don't lose your nerve.

Hi Diane,
Offhand I don't know who wrote it. It's in the album "Ultimate Santana". Santana does the guitar, and a guy named "Everlast" (?) is the singer. Santana has a whole bunch of guest vocalists on the album. It's a beautiful song.

I love this part...
"Cause there's a monster living under my bed Whispering in my ear There's an angel, with her hand on my head She say I've got nothing to fear"
It's so true...

Maybe not ...

I think I got the lines right, Kevin. (His verbal conversation over my shoulder right now is, "Yes, dear, you're right, I'm sorry... See? See my second post? What are you writing? Are you humiliating me in public?")

I admit that I may have an extra syllable in the "There is no God but Allah" line, but I still say that I can hear it!

Love you...

I've heard the phrase sung out by the mullahs from the Kuala Lumpur minarets so often that I can still hear it in my sleep. Every Friday they turned on the loudspeakers and it echoed over the whole city.

I'm not Shawna, by the way, and I don't play her on TV.
